Power Market Model
Law nr. 43/2015 “For the sector of electricity power” defines new electricity power market. This law regulates relations in the activities of production, transmission, distribution, and supply with electricity power, as well sets up rules related with:
- opening, organization and functioning of a competitive electricity power market;
- participation in the electricity power market;
- granting of authorizations and licenses at the electricity power sector;
- regulation of activities in the electricity power sector, clients protection, security of electricity power supply and establishment of competitive structures in the electricity power market
This law is fully aligned with the 2009/72/KE directive of European Parliament and Council, dated 13 July 2009, “On common rules for the internal market of electricity power, repealing Directive 2003/54/KE”, (number CELEX: 32009L0072, Official Journal of European Union, L series, no. 211, date 14.8.2009, page 55-93).
Pursuant to the law, OSHEE must be detached and independent from other activities not relating to electricity power distribution. OSHEE, which exercises this function, before this law entered into force, fulfills the obligation of detachment not later than 31.12.2007.
